Arwen Karoline Grooms was born Dec. 23, 2010 at 2:10pm. She was 7lbs 14oz. And 19 and 1/2 inches long. I went into labor at 5 pm on the 22nd and stayed home all night until my water broke at 7 am on the 23rd. We got ready and went to the hospital on Nellis Air force Base. I was very dehydrated, it took 4 bags of saline solution to get me hydrated. I had a spinal block and it stopped working part way through my labor so I got to feel the full force of contractions. It only took 40 mins of pushing to deliver our little angel. The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck and she was also severely dehydrated. It was 4 hours before we were able to see her. They had to put fluids in through her umbilical cord because they couldn't find a place for an IV. She gave us a scare, but pulled through at the last moment. This picture of her is the very first picture that was taken by us of her after her birth. We are so glad to have her in our family. We are now complete.

Why were you so dehydrated??
Not sure other than I hate water. I have a hard time drinking it. And also my body had been purging itself of everything. I was in labor for over 12 hours at home. I had been drinking water, but apparently it wasn't enough.
