Bedtime songs

I've been feeling prompted tonight to write down all the songs I sing with Malachi at night. A lot of them are primary songs I learned at church, but there are a few others too.
We usually start with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Malachi sings it with me usually. Then we sing 3 verses of You are my Sunshine . Malachi knows all of them too. Next is Angel Lullaby from My Turn on Earth, Mother I love you, When Daddy Comes Home, I'm like a Star, I am a Child of God, Teach Me to Walk in the Light, I know my Father lives, I lived in Heaven, A Child's Prayer, and I kneel to Pray (not sure what the official name is for this one). We usually have a prayer after this song.
Then we do some patriotic songs. Ever since Sean was in Afghanistan we have added My Country Tis of Thee, America the Beautiful, and God Bless America. Then if he's still awake I sing the Carpenter's song Close to You, and the Judd's song, Love Can Build a Bridge. I also sing the Lullaby from The Land Before Time called If We Hold on Together, then last but not least I sing a song about Jesus (because my Mom always ended with I Heard Him Come) called Oh Lord My Redeemer.
Tonight I also added Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Usually Malachi is out by the Carpenter's, but sometimes it's shorter or takes all the way to the end of the songs. He enjoys it and it makes bedtime less stressful for all of us. Arwen has started to move around on some of the songs too so I'm guessing those will be her favorites when she makes it into the world.

I am so blessed to have this voice to share with my children. I am thankful for the many gifts my Heavenly Father has bestowed upon me. Motherhood is the greatest gift he has given me. It has it's fair share of ups and downs, but I definitely know how to appreciate the good days.
